What is the difference between a 70 SS grille and a standard one, besides the color?

The 2 center vertical stainless trim pieces are not on the SS grille & it's black.

Take a Malibu grille remove the chrome, paint the grille black and leave the (2) vertical center chrome pieces off when you reinstall the chrome.
