What do you think of a rear mount antenna on a 69 SS? Mine was originally a rear mount and I can't decide whether I want to go back with the same or not.

There is one currently on Ebay that's actually even the same color as mine

Chad, Seb is correct. Looks like someone added your rear antenna. It should be located lower on the quarter, like Seb's 69.

Yeah, I kind of thought the same thing. The car in the picture is not mine; just one off ebay that got me thinking about mine (which is not nearly as nice yet).

Chad, I think the rear antenna looks good too. I added mine during the resto. The rear mount antenna was an option for AM radio only. All FM radio cars had front mount. The 69 Antenna is also eliptical in shape not round. You should be able to see mine in my signature/show room pics as well. Sebs location looks to be correct. The burgandy Chevelle is definitly to far forward. The correct location is in the factory assy manual.

I agree with everything Brian said. The rear mount antenna was only for an AM radio.

But, if you don't care about "correctness" and you think it looks better in back, then go with the rear mount!

have to ask mine is in windshield looked no hole or repair in rear or front fender 69 is this corect in windshield
