I'm considering the 2" drop spindles on my 66' but I don't have a good idea of what that will look like.

Can someone help out with some pics? Are you having rubbing problems?

if it matters i'm running 16" AR Torq Thrust II's

Thanks!

That's what I was worried about. At first thought, 2" sounds a bit extreme. Got any pics?

Check the pics in my sig. My '66 has 2" drop spindles and hotchkis springs. No problems at all, wheels are 17x9.5 rear, 17x8 front.

OK.. can we say HOT! Nice looking cars!

Your 66 looks higher than what I remembered a 2" spindle'd car looked like (saw one at a show one time). Does the hotchkis springs raise it up some? *confused*

Also, what offset are you running on your AR's? Those look very nice indeed. I'm currently running 16s so i'm stuck with them for a while.

The springs are stock hight and were new when this pic was taken, it sits about 1/2" lower in the front now. The spindles came with the four wheel disc brake set up from CPP, I think the spindles are from heidts, they are the 2" drop, tall ball joint deal. Wheels are on 4.5" backspacing front and 5.25" back.
Thanks for the compliments!!

Some pics of mine in the '66 Showroom. 2" drop spindles + QA1 coilovers to get the exact stance I wanted. 245/45 on 17 x 8 frt and 275/40 on 17 x 9.5 rr with Baer brakes all around. All wheel well lips are rolled because I bought the brakes after the wheels were already on and the brakes add about 3/8" width per side. Get some minor contact with the rear face of the frt inner fenders at extreme steering lock but nothing to be concerned about.

well i dont have big rims but my picture might help you decide how low you want your car, they are old stock springs with 2 and a half coil ut out probably about a total (between cuts springs and old springs) of about 3 to 3 and a half inch drop, more or less, hope this helps.

I have 1 inch drop springs on mine and the floor jack just slides under the frame. I'm running 245/60/15 up front on a 15X8 wheel with 4.5 BS, with no issues even over curbs.
Check signature for pics.

Almost two inches lower with coilovers - see picture in sig.

Ok so I forgot to mention (sorry) that with my 1" drop springs in front I run
14" wheels with a 205/70/14.I have ordered new wheels and tires and went with 15x6 on the front with a 215/65/15 and that tire is about 1 1/2" more diam. So after that I should be able to get the jack under the front of the frame

rubs on U turns and tight corners, looks good but challenging to drive.
