Bill Rose Oct 19th, 07, 3:15 PM Hey, I could buy it, but I'd have to live in it.
IDoc Oct 19th, 07, 7:16 PM Can someone explain why this is worth more than the cost of my house? What did the Yenko name give you?
glennslanaker Oct 20th, 07, 11:07 AM peter,
yenko was a chevy dealership is PA i think that did dealer modification to brand new cars in the late '60's, early 70's. they would make a regular chevelle, nova, camaro into a 500 horsepower car. along with adding some cosmetics. the mods usually involved a 427 engine i believe which was not available from the factory in any of the above cars. while not a 'factory' oriiginal car, they are considered as desirable as anything out there. there are probably less than 1000 yenko cars in existance today since they were done for such a short period of time.
a69copo Oct 20th, 07, 12:35 PM well, I'll put my two cents in..just my opion...history; The count of 1969 COPO Chevelles......was 323..............99 of these COPO chevelle's were sent to Yenko........he put his emblems, decals and add ons as the purchaser's wanted............most of these cars were raced and hard......more didn't make it out of the 70's intact, let alone at all. Today, there are more collectors, then these cars and all want one....so the "supply and demand" kicks in.
So, the question should be, will it turn $375K......it would be a record, if it did, most of us will never know.....
I sold mine (not even close to it's resale)........it then sold at Barret-Jackson last year,VIN 136379B404***....Fathom Green non-number matching......over the top restoration.........record holder at $216K,....... two sold that year, understanding the Malibu, yellow with silver lower...all Malibu trim, wrong motor and all...........but was to be real COPO Chevelle (yeah right)....sold for $152K...then earlier this year, a Fathom Green Yenko chevelle sold for around the $154K mark.......low quality restoration, however numbers matching.
Once again, this is my opion.....not to offened anyone on the site. I've done alot of research on these cars, owned a few of them and couldn't keep any of them.........bigger check book then mine or had my priorities. I'll stick to restoring them.

Don_Lightfoot Oct 20th, 07, 1:35 PM Let's see, I think my piggy bank can handle a hit for $375K, but unfortunately this car is Red :noway:
Seriously, this appears to be a top notch car. Would certainly like to see a bunch more pictures. I will never be able to afford my dream Chevelle which is a Lemans Blue with White stripes 69 Yenko
Keith Tedford Oct 20th, 07, 1:47 PM Quite a difference in ride height between the two. Ours was like the one in the driveway shot. Scraped cross member and flattened header pipes were quite normal.

The 1969 Yenkos had factory installed 427s and I think some of the 68 Camaros also did. There were 99 Yenko Chevelles, around 200 Camaros and 37(I think) Novas built in 1969. I think there were close to 500 total Yenkos built in 1967-69 with the 69 Novas being the most valuable.

Thanks for the link.
dirtrocker Oct 21st, 07, 11:13 PM If someone "GAVE" me that car I have no idea what I would do. I'd be all screwed up LOL.
What do U do with something like that?
davis95 Oct 21st, 07, 11:43 PM I may decide to get it, but right now now i'm talking to a guy about a tractor sled puller with 6 454's which is on sale at a steal of a price of just $255,000. If this deal falls through than I may consider the Chevelle for my 15 year old for his first car. I need to email the Chevelle owner so I can make sure the AC works. For a steal of a deal like this you always need to know about the AC!!!!
