I'm new to this site and thought I would drop in and say hello. I'm also from Virginia and I have a matching number 70 SS 396 and a 68 Camaro RS/SS. I was wondering if it is possible to obtain a copy of the original build sheet for the 70 SS . I know they are usually under the seats but this car when I purchased it,it had no rear seat and the original front seats had been swapped out. Any help you can provide would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Ken,
Welcome to TC, the best site around. You may find a build sheet behind your door panels, under the tar paper (under the carpet), under the back seat (like you mentioned) and some even have them on top of the gas tank. As for the build sheet, check your replies under the Tech area! Again, welcome.

Hello and welcome Ken. The different assembly plants had different places that build sheets may be found. Where was your car built?

My car was built in Baltimore. It was also sold by Fox Chevrolet when new. I do know that much about it. I know it's a true SS,but I have no documentation to verfy the fact. It's like buying a pure bred German Sheppard, but no AKC papers to verify the pedigree. :(

The original seats were long gone when I bought the car....It was like buying a race car...It had no interior except for the front seats and console. I had a donor car with black interior,so that's what I went with. I'm looking to put it back to 90% original in the future. I'll keep the engine kinda radical and the Flowmaster exhaust....I love annoying the neighbors.LOL!! :D
