: Rubber or polygraphite?

Should I use rubber or polygraphite rear control arm bushings. I already have 4 rubber ones, but I found out the others would have been cheaper. So should I just order 4 more rubber ones from GM ($50.81) or get 8 Energy Suspension ones for ($82)? The car is a 1970 convertible with a small block, TH350, 12 bolt. It will be used for cruising (no strip time (I don't care to embarrass myself that much)).

Mike,

Although you're not planning to use your car on the strip, the polygraphite bushings will help your handling. The dollar difference is small and the labor is the same. I don't get any noise from mine.

Polygraphite 100% it will firm up your ride quite a bit. Return those rubber OEM ones!!

I tried but they won't take them. I ordered the polys anyway.

Mike, the I believe the Energy Suspension units are straight polyurethane and need greasing, PST sells the graphite impregnated units no squeeking, someone else carries them also, can't remember who.

If you get the Energy Suspension bushings with a "G" as the last diget of the part number you will get graphite.

Read through Global West on line catlog, suspension systems section, They do not recommend polyurethane on the rear, they will bind.Use new rubber bushings.

Global's catlog has a lot of interesting tips on steering, suspension and brakes
