I'm looking for the serial #'s first line is3960735 s 290 which I think is a part # and second line a little lower on frame is 10-601XV I think,very hard to read. Should I be looking on the top ( horizontal) part of frame and which section? XV is the code that is on the build shhet for the frame identification. The VIN, if it is stamped on the frame, can be on either side, stamped on the horizontal top surface. Usually behind the next to last body mount hole. scab Oct 18th, 07, 5:43 PM im looking to buy a 70 chevelle ss ls-6 from a guy. what should i look for in the vin # etc. to tell me its a true ls-6 car? i have block# , heads #, intake.
