I recently asked the question on the pro touring forum on B-Body conversions that will enable me to use 5x5 wheels on my 68 Chevelle. What I need to know now is can I still use my factory or tubular A Arms for a chevelle using B-Body spindels and brakes or do I need to switch to B-Body A arms for that also. If any one has done tis conversion could you give me some insite.

my 64 has the B spindle conversion but it was on the car when I bought it. The upper ball joint is the same but the lower is a different taper. You either have to use conversion ball joints (believe Hotchkis has them) or machine your turbular or stock lower a-arms to fit the B car ball joints. Stock or aftermarket a-arms can be used in either case. Hotchkis also offers their tubular lower a-arm with the B car ball joint already installed so it's a direct bolt on.
Additionally, Hotchkis is coming out with their version of the B car spindle, shooting for December. It has some advantages over the stock B car spindle though, as it retains the stock Chevelle lower ball joint so no adapting/machining necessary. It also use the stock Chevelle steering arm position which is much better than the B car unit position. They claim no bumpsteer which should be a huge improvement over the stock B car swap.

If the steering arm position is the same as stock A body and the stock A body has a boat load of bumpsteer (which it does) how does theirs have "no bumpsteer"?
If you do what you`ve always done you`ll get what you always got. Mark SC&C

I'll keep and eye on Hotchkis for those conversion spindles
I believe the new casting has the steering arm relocated to the stock location for the 64-72 location.
