In order for my efi system to work correctly i need to find a source that provides 12 volts while in the on/run position AND around 12 volts while cranking. Any suggestions on which wires will have 12 volts while cranking or how to create my own?

Thanks
Mike

The wire to your coil should have power while cranking it will have to be changed out to a regular wire instead of the resistance wire to provide 12 volts though.

This is for the computer to have 12 volts while cranking. Sorry, I should have clarified that. In order for it to allow the spark and fuel injection, the computer has to have enough volts for it to remain on while cranking.

Edelbrock said the system needs 11.7 volts.

This EFI thing is kind of a pain.

Depends where the computer is going to be mounted ? If inside, under the dash somewhere, take power from the fusebox "BATT" terminal.
If in the engine bay, take it from the horn relay.

Yes, the computer will be inside under my console. I will check the Batt.
Thank You

Ok, I checked the Batt and it constantly has 12 volts even with the ignition off. I need no volts when ignition is off, and 12 volts in on and while cranking.

Thank you for the suggestions so far... any other suggestions?

Mike

I think what I will do is install a toggle switch panel and run a wire from the Batt. to a toggle switch to the computer. I can use this as antitheft and run other wires to the switch system.

Try the "IGN" terminal, allot of guys use that for aftermarket coils etc.
