The headrests weren't mandatory equipment until January 1, 1969. Early '69s could be had without them but it does look a little strange when you are so used to seeing the '69s with them. I'll take what ever safety equipment is available. We had a '68 Chevelle without headrests, as they were an option, and it looked ok.

I can't help but think that something is missing if I see a '69+ without headrests. But thats just my opinion.

My 66 has buckets with no headrest. But the headrest and mounting kits are available, which is what I'm going to do.

Still not shure what you are talking about?

I think that automatics are a cancer. It must have four forward gears that are shifted manually and one reverse.

But your right. To each his own. :D

Well if it would make you feel any better, the gear vendors overdrive is on order.
That will go in with a manual valvebody and maybe a different shifter?
So that would be 6 forward gears that would be shifted manually and one reverse.
I see in your signature you have a 1966 Charger. 383, 727 "Auto".
1970 Chevelle 4 door. 307, "Auto"
Ya better get the torch and cut that "cancer" out of those cars. LOL

This is just my opinion...but I have always thought the headrests for these particular seats were sort of ugly...

That being said it is sort of a safety issue...and of course you could quickly remove them and poke the guys eyes out that runs into your car...

Well there is a 4 speed lined up for the Charger. And the four door is going to have the front end taken off and a few other misc. parts that I can use on a two door and then it is going bye bye. So :p

Them's fighting words - but don't screw up this thread. Start your own with something like that.

It was already done with you don't have to come in here and try and play ruler of the interior section.
