The gague in my 69 sits on full. I got under the car and wiggled the ground to see if there was a problem.
When I checked the gague I declare it looked as if it was now a half inch past the full mark ! Could that be ?
Any tips on a fix ?

If your gauge moved from full to noticeably past full, it sounds like you made a poor ground worse when you wiggled it around. Try reestablishing a good ground connection and see what happens. If you are still experiencing problems, do a search. There are tons of threads already posted that can walk you through trouble shooting from the gauge all the way back to the sender.
