Hello everybody , i'm new on this forum and nice to meet you!
I have a merlin 3,540ci tall deck,but i have no idea what horsepower and torque this engine dyno's!
Is there someone who has any idea about this engine?thanks a lot!
Here are the parts:MERLIN 3,10.200 deck,540 ci ,4.500bore/4.250 stroke(CALLIES),OLIVER 6.800 rods,SRP 10cc dome pistons(10.25;1)HOWARDS mech-roller cam #121153,dur @0.50;int 248,exh 254,adv dur int;282,ex 290.lobe 110 degr,int valve lift;665,exh lift 679,2500/6700rpm,EDELBR VICTOR single plain intake,HOLLY dominator 1050 cfm,MERLIN rect iron heads 119cc chamber,320cc int run,MANLEY 2.30 int valve,1.88 exh valve,headers with race collectors .THANK you!! fam.riedijk@tiscali.nl :confused:

Welcome...I'll take a stab at this and say right around the 700 HP mark.......Have you has it to the track yet......My buddy had a 540 with Dart Pro 1's a little bigger cam and that was 777 HP on the dyno......

I know Merlins 9:1 iron headed 540 with a smaller solid flat-tappet cam made 580 hp and 586 ft-lbs on the dyno. The Merlin heads arent the greatest head in the world, they defintly could use porting on the exhaust side, so they possibly are holding the cam back some. However, with that cam and higher compression, i agree blaauboer that its gotta be right up near 700 hp. At least 650-670 hp
