Looking at a few options for my 65 chevelle, chassis is about done just waiting for some better weather to get here to finish up body work and paint. But to the real question, this is what I have been thinking for options:

1 - ZZ502, possibly with aftermarket F.I.

2 - ZZ383

3 - I can get for free a 400 block and a steel 350 crank from my Dad, then i would just build something hopefully that could put out arond 450hp

Well those are the options i've been thinking of, i would really like to keep the original hood. The small blocks would be nice because they offer easier installation.

This would be backed up by a muncie and a 12 bolt

any thoughts, especially about the 400 with the 350 crank

Thanks

A big block requires suspension changes so I'd go SBC. Or if you can afford it an aluminum BB.

You can turn a 400 crank down to fit a 350 block but I've not gone the other way. Interesting.
