Has anyone seen a BG Vac. Secondary carb with a secondary squirter installed?

Thanks and Regards!

Unless the squirter was set to only go off when the secondaries open it would be a bad set up. Typically the squirters are mechanical. With vacuum secondaries they only open when engine demands dictate they are needed. If a mechanical squirter were in place, it'd be squirting whenever the throttle was opened a certain amount whether or not the secondaries actually opened.

More to your question, I've never seen nor heard of such a thing.

Didn't think it was even possible
Most, if not all vaccum carb main bodies are not machined to accept a secondery squirter.

I'm no carb expert, but it doens't seem like they would be needed since the engine's vacuum pulls the secondaries open (unless you put a bolt in the linkage to make them open like a mechanical). It doesn't seem that they should open up fast enough to cause a lean bog that couldn't be solved by changing the springs. At least thats they way it would seem to work. Good topic. I'm interested to see what the more carb savvy people have to say.

No need for a vac sec carb to have a sec accl pump and squirter...

A word of caution if I may.On a vacuum secondary Holley there is a link that looks like it could be used to open the secondaries.Thats what fourfiddyfour was refering to above... this link is not designed to open the secondaries.... It is designed to CLOSE the secondaries on a vac sec holley. Many people put a screw in there in an attempt to make the secondaries open mechanically. This will work to some small degree but it is also EXTREMELY DANGEROUS.If a person were standing on the throttle with one of those screws or bolts it is possible to have that link hang up... Now when you back out of the throttle and try to close the throttle if the secondaries were to stick open due to that link getting caught in the screw or bolt... Well that makes it awfully hard to stop the car.

A vacuum secondary Holley is an extremely simple and effecient design and once one learns to tune it correctly they work very very well.If one wants or needs a mechanical secondary carb Holley makes those also.... You far better off getting the correct carb rather than trying to convert a vacuum secondary carb into a double pumper.

I think there is a bit of a missunderstanding.

This is a brand new BG carb, that I recieved from BG under warranty. It is a Vacuum Secondary Carb, but for some reason, there is a secondary booster squirter installed. There is no secondary accelerator pump.

In the meantime, BG is sending me another carb.

Please see my post in Troubleshooting under Automotive Hell for more details.

Thanks and Regards!
