I want to know if anyone has take any aftermarket gauges apart? In order to custom paint the faces or something? I dont have anything to examine and I dont want to tear apart new new expensive gauge ...

Does anyone have any info on this?

I eventually took apart an autometer gauge I got off craigslist... You almost have to ruin the bezel to get to the gauge... and if you remove the needle to get to the face, you may never get it to read correct without sending it to Autometer (or someone) to calibrate it.... I gave up on the idea ...

Here is a bump for you.

I've only taken an AutoMeter #3708 apart for an installation similar to this. The way the cases are factory crimped it wouldn't be an easy task to put them back together.
