I have a Holley 3310-1 with blocks the carb has been reworked I have been having incidences of the needle sticking open it has been changed out 3 times now never any trouble with the primary. I open the sight screw slosh out fuel clink the adjusting nut and all is well till the next time any ideas could the float have something wrong? Fuel pump is a Holley 110 gph mech. Thanks guys.

Is the float sinking ? (pin hole in it)

And what's your fuel pressure.

Odds are pretty slim that you will get three bad needle and seat assemblies in a row. I had a small crack in a brass float and it took a couple of days to sink and flood the engine. Sounds like a float problem.

I have been thinking about that also but once I clink the adjustment nut with a wrench or hammer it runs fine for quite awhile I don't have to change the adjustment at all. If the float was sinking I would have to keep compensating Right?

it's got dirt in it or the float hinge is bent or something. Pull the bowl and carefully inspect the float, the bracket that holds it, the pin that goes through, the bumper spring if it has one. Sometimes guys get the little bumper spring (if it has one) wound up backwards and it tries to push the float down instead of up. Check the O-ring on the needle.seat ass'y, make sure it's not nicked. IOW, all the usual suspects.
