Does anyone have pictures of a 68 chevelle tachometer or maybe a refrence to buying one. I would like to get one as a christmas gift for my girlfriend. Was there any difference for the l79 cars? Maybe redline or something? Thanks guys!

You are talking about the roller tach. I always thought most small blocks used a 5000 rpm redline, the big blocks 5500, and solid lifter big blocks 6000 rpm redline.

Attached are a few pictures I liberated from e-Bay back in 2000.

your looking for the Holy Grail of 68 parts !! no repro's your best bet is E-Bay ........

I'd be almost afraid to see what they're going for now some where around 800 to 1k for a set that doesn't need to be refinished your going to want to get the amp water temp & oil pressure setup to complete the U-14 option....... oh also along with the proper redline on the tack which there are 3 , they're are also three different gear position windows PG PRNDL T400 PRND21 an last a blank black one for the 4 sp console cars ... now you have to install it (wire harness's )
it happens that they are 3 of those to change also dash harness $400 front lighting harness $100 engine harness $100 .... good hunting they are around but not very many !!!!
