How do weak valve springs prevent a motor from revving?. I saw this in another post but didn't want to hijack the thread.

They allow the valves to float, by bouncing off the seat at the time they're supposed to close. If the valves don't keep compression in the cylinder, the engine can't produce power.

When the valve action is out of control, the valves can get hit by the pistons and the heads bent so they stick open in their guides!

And when smacked enough, the pistons and valve heads can break and you end up blowing a motor real quick!!

That was the main way the stock, little Z-28, 302 motors were blown up...
