Hi guys, help please, Having strange problems with my car.:sad: Trans is uprated th400 with TSI XHD 10" 4500 nitrous converter behind 700hp 540 in 3600lb 68 camaro.275 M/T street radials.
For long time now car occasionally looses all drive on startup.- no lurch,noise,nothing.Re fire motor once or twice problem dissapears car runs good & shifts fine.
Typ 1.55 on footbrake, 6.80@102 (6.80@102) & 10.65@127 (10.65@127) on motor, 6.30@110 (6.30@110) & 10.05@136 (10.05@136) with 175 shot.
Have noticed esp on nitrous pass trans fluid getting onto pass side exhaust in shutdown area,not much but visible smoke! After last runs above, went to gas station to re-fuel. Came to leave-no drive at all?
After many restarts got car to crawl backwards needing lots rpms, Eventually got soft engagement & drove forwards & out of town. Took up to about 5000 on hill - rear mirror & interior suddenly full of smoke, ease right back & smoke went away but felt very loose & slight vibration(tingle)
Made back to track & pushed onto trailer,no obvious source for leak, always had small weep front r.h side of pan. Ran motor up against footbrake,no real drive until about 5000 then loaded real quick (2 or 3 seconds) held for few seconds-no leaks then wham dumped a pint in about 3 seconds somewhere near filler tube? Next morning managed to crawl back onto trailer no real leaks! Fluid looks & smells new level about right.1ST thought was cracked casing allowing air lock preventing drive & opening up under load,but cant see obvious (car has csr carbon shield so hard to see much) any suggestions welcome what might cause both problems (has B&M plate cooler + fan )
Trans fully re-built 40 runs ago,nothing bad found to cause no drive+ been thro tyre shake (bang/bang) couple of times lately
