I want to convert to an internal regulator Alternator. I pulled my motor out of an 85 Suburban. I still have the alternator and all brackets from the Suburban. Can I do the rewire and use this alternator? My local parts guy said it a 100 Amp.
Thanks

Yes. Is this for your 68? If so, you have to mod the wiring to use the alternator.

You will probably want to run a new main power cable with a 100A alternator. I used 8g cable from a car stereo amplifier install kit to run from the BAT connection on the alternator to the horn bus bar on my upgrade.

I don't like that schematic, as it inappropriately crosses the wires coming from F and 2 at the regulator, where they connect to the alternator at 1 and 2.
This drawing does not cross the wires, but note that the jumper wires at the external regulator connector are different.
