Question #1 will a 1984 truck oil pan and timing cover from a 454 fit a 1970 big block and will the oil pan work in a 1970 chevelle.will
clearence be a problem? will there be issues sealing on the rear main.
what year did GM go to the 1 piece seal and does this play any rule in interchangability? I am runing a 2 piece seal

Question #2 what are the stock lenghts of big block push rods vs truck pushrods. bought a set at Carlise and not sure if i got ripped into buying
truck push rods or not. I am building 454 for my 1970 stock chevelle

The oil pan will fit the block, but truck & suburban pans normally do not fit the chevelle frame. It will hit the crossmember. The timing cover should fit.

The truck pan has quite a deep sump and then the sloping section from the front to the sump section slopes down at a fairly steep angle.

I used one on my Chevy II with mustang II front end and the sloped portion just barely cleared the home built crossmember. Don't think this would work with Chevelle type front crossmember.
