Will I have a problem getting rings for a .040 over 454 BBC? Looking for regular file fit plasma moly speed pros. Std tension, std widths.

Having custom pistons made and want to make sure I can get rings!

I found a 4.298 speed pro ring (1/16-1/16-3/16). I should be able to file fit this to my 4.290 bore?

If you are talking about 5/64 5/64 3/16 as a standard width, they are available from all of the ring manufacturers in .040 and .045
as far as I know. I know for sure that Hastings makes a set of Moly Rings in .040, I just put a set in an engine. If you need 1/16 1/16 3/16 I am sure they are also available. If you cant find them, let me know and I will get you the part numbers.

Speed Pro R9590.045 5/64 5/64 3/16
Speed Pro R9904.040 1/16 1/16 3/16

I am pretty sure Hastings has a .045 1/16 set up but I dont have a catalog here at home.

I will look in the AM and see if Hastings has a file fit .045 set. I havn't been on the web much at work due to my very slow dial up connection there.
