Well, here's my problem:

I'm putting in a new engine wiring harness. They come as they did from the factory, which means the TCS (Throttle Control Solenoid) is part of the wiring package. When hooked up properly, this little guy controls the advance and the throttle kickdown based on the engine temp.

As with most cars, mine was disconnected, for the most part - I still have the TCS, mine is located behind the brake booster for some reason. My throttle kickdown was still wired through this thing (I don't think it was working), and the new wiring uses it also.

My question: With no temp sensor for the TCS system, how can I hook up the throttle kickdown switch so it works? Or really, can I hook it to the TCS and will it work as it should anyway?

Thanks for any input!

I would hook the switch up to IGN terminal on the fuse box.You can try hooking it up to the TCS and see if it works.

I think the switch itself is fine, "should" already have a power hookup - but I'm not sure if it will send it's signal to the tranny or not.

Here's a picture of the engine wiring that may help you connect it up. If you don't have the TCS solenoid at the carb installing this TCS setup may not have any benefits. Is this going to be a concourse restoration? If you just want the kickdown, power the kickdown off a constant power source close by.

Definitely not concours - I just wanted to hook everything up so it works, using as much of the stock wiring setup as possible.

Those drawings certainly help, I was also wondering where the starter clip was supposed to attach - shows just the spot I need, thanks!
