I have a Q-jet that sits atop of my intake. It allows the engine to idle fast when in park or neutral. (not sure how fast as I don't have a tach installed yet....I'm gonna guess 1500 rpm or so....but it's fast enuff you can tell) I do believe the choke was off.
I first tried reducing the idle screw by turning the idle screw counter clockwise...didn't do much help. Then I grabbed the linkage for the secondaries (on the drivers side) and turned it counter clockwise...aha! Idle went down to normal.
So is my problem solved? NO! As soon as you hit the pedal it gets stuck again until you mess with the seconaries linkage. I even tried spraying it with some carb cleaner...still didn't work.
Any ideas on how I can fix this problem? TIA
