: Wiring Knee Knocker Tach

Bought a correct vintage tach for my 66 SS. Three quick questions:
(1)Is there a standard "spot" to mount unit under dash perhaps using existing cutouts and or screws? (2)Is the tach wired to and through the harness and fuse box(at what point is it joined?) or do the wires poke through the firewall at some point? Where? (3)Were all the wires to these tachs standard colors originally or did they vary?
Thanks for your expertise!

Hey Rocky,
Thanks for your reply. I'm new to the forum and Haven't figured out how to navigate. Is your e-mail on the sight or do you have to respond throught the forum. In any event I could sure use the template and any wiring info you have!

Doug,
Here are a couple of diagrams that should help.

Doug,

I sent the template to you for mounting the tach. IF you have any question about it feel free to email me. I sent it to the email address in your profile. The template is 1:1 when you print it out just cut out with scissors and go. A whole lot simpler than trying to lay it out with the above diagram.
