kjett Jul 25th, 04, 8:51 AM Brian,
A friend of mine has a 67' Camaro with a pump gas 406 SBC, TH400 and 4.11 gears. The race weight is 3,200lbs as I recall. He's been tuning on it for the past year in this configuration and has it running real well (11.3@118). If you like I can unicast you his email. He may have some tips on suspension setup, etc... I know he uses Caltracs, but I'm not that familiar with his suspension setup. I think his car 60's 1.57 on a good surface with a 28x10 Hoosier. Let me know.
Were you at E-town Saturday? I was going to go to see the F.A.S.T drags but stayed home because of the weather forcast. Was it nice there? How was the turnout for the factory drags?
Congrats on the good 60' time smile.gif
Motor Martyr Jul 25th, 04, 10:26 AM Ken,
I'm alright, that 60ft was after one of my terrible burn outs, and so far i have no traction aids.
For the mean time i plan to buy a set of traction bars, and put in a line lock.
Jim,
I went to Island, it was bright and sunny all day, no joke.
onebadd66 Jul 25th, 04, 10:30 AM Brian,

Motor Martyr Jul 25th, 04, 10:47 AM thanks Steve, i have a new carb to try out for next outing as well.
JOHN WILSON Jul 25th, 04, 2:40 PM Progress is always nice. graemlins/thumbsup.gif What's the race weight and what et are you shooting for when the good air/track comes around?
Motor Martyr Jul 25th, 04, 3:29 PM with 1/2 a tank of gas the car weighs 3260lbs with me in it.
I'm shooting for mid 11 second ET's.
I havent started tuning anything yet, as i want the car and driver consistant before i start tuning.
I'm sure there is ET in the current carb, the lash settings, the shift points, the launch RPM's, the timing, ect.
Lonnie67 Jul 26th, 04, 4:52 PM Brian, is that "forklifts" Camaro going any quicker with the back half? What is the DA like over there now?
Motor Martyr Jul 26th, 04, 5:06 PM the racing conditions this weekend werent too bad, the track prep could have definetly been improved.
I dont log DA yet, i will start as soon as the car/driver are consistant enough to be tracked.
the forklifts car is actually just slightly slower with the backhalf, the big tires are alot of weight to spin down the track, however the driver wanted the car backhalved for stability reasons.
Lonnie67 Jul 26th, 04, 5:24 PM I liked it better the other way. His car though.
Hey Brian, what made you decide to run "Trophy" class on Saturday? Were you still running the non-DOT's?
I see Ed had a real nice .001 light in round #3 graemlins/thumbsup.gif
Keep me posted, and I want to know when you hit Island again. Maybe we can line up for a grudge match.
Motor Martyr Jul 26th, 04, 10:06 PM Lonnie,
i like the car with all the work done, but it was also very cool with the small tires.
yeah, i figured i would see more rounds in Trophy then in Heavy, since i cant run street without DOT legal tires.
Ed did pretty good.
I'll probably head to island a few times in august because etown only has points days on the 1st and last of the month.
