I just saw "Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry" (1974), again, but not since the 1970's...

...and I must say I was grinning all the way thru.

A non-redeeming, non-important silly movie, it was still cool after all these years.

With Peter Fonda, Roddy McDowell, Susan George, (looks better now then she did 30 years ago), and Vic Morrow, I don't remember all the cussing when I first saw it, but it is quite funny. It includes a 1968 Impala (RTG 911) and a 1969 440 Charger (938 DAN), as the get away cars with plenty of speed and stunts. No acting in this movie, but it doesn't matter.

The documentary is pretty good too, as the actors enthusiastically share their experiences in making of the movie. No CGI or camera tricks here, just all real stunts. The Barney Fife deputy character chasing the Charger is quite entertaining.

The Cd is a tach and the movie is just a fun time.

my favorite car movie of all time (unless some how dazed and confused slips in) followed by smokey and the bandit

i though bullitt was a terribly boring movie, and wasn't even amused by the chase scene...

Is this 1955 all over again? That was just a mild quote from a song by Steppenwolf.

Was that not an Impala, but actually a BelAir/Biscayne????

I have that movie on DVD, and watched it a few months ago. I love the Charger in it. DId they ever come from the factory with those stripes on them like that? I would figure in 74 when the movie was made it would still have the factory stripes and those didnt look original to the car

Funny.

I bought it on DVD about a month ago and watched it last weekend. I'd seen parts of it several times, including the ending, but never watched it from start to finish.

Any of you guys seen what some versions of Two Lane Blacktop are selling for? WOW!!

Grew up on car movies...Two lane blacktop, Vanishing Point, Gone in 60 seconds (the original), Aloha Bobby and Rose, Dirty Mary Crazy Larry, Bullit, Gumball Rally, Stroker Ace, just to name a few. Brutal acting, but I'm a car guy. Give me some fast cars and relatively eager women, and I'm ok with it.

It was a Mopar, probably had to be re-painted by '74, J/K, that was the thing to do , customize your ride. No it was not origional.

I thought that was a very clever DVD applique, it is actually the Tic-Toch-Tach from a '69 Charger. The ending is kinda depressing, caught on film very well. Funny how how alot of these cult car movies end w/ the death /destruction of the car/stars huh?

Another cult film that has everything going great, then BAM. Its all over and credits come.

Never understood why car movies ended like that.
