I am trying to find the correct part number for Hooker headers that fit '67 396/4 spd, w/disc brake conversion. My proportioning valve is mounted to the frame. All Big Block chevelles that I have seen with this combonation at shows all seem to have the same headers. Comp or Super Comp?

I've heard that the Hooker Comp headers have clearance issues. Someone sent me the installtion instructions for them and it shows your where to make dents in the headers for the frame and the steering colum and the control arm. I'm not sure about the Super Comps. I too need to find headers for my '67 BB that fit without modifications to the new headers.

Well the 2455's don't fit for poo but the original post mentioned Comps or Super Comps, they do have some issues. I've owned 3 pair and had to dent and ding for the steering shaft every time

I have the comps on my 67 454 El Camino. I clearanced the bracket a little not the header. I put a small dent for the stearing shaft, turned out I could have got away with out it. I love the fit of these headers. I have a Milodon kicked out oil pan and have good oil filter clearance as well. I am using big block mounts. I have seen others have problems using the small block mounts.

Not a '67, but I am using the 2455's on my '65. They fit wonderfully even with my raised exhaust port Brodix heads. I'll bet with standard port location heads I wouldn't have needed any additional steering shaft clearance.

The Comps fit better than the Super Comps - but in a dedicated hard core drag car the Super Comps should deliver more power.

I have never had a set of headers fit nicer than my hedman 68190's on my 67 w/ 396. Went in and cleared everything flawlessly.
