It seems the more I read about timing the more confused I get. Can someone give me aprox. timing no"s for a 1969 327 with 305 heads and a HEI everything else stock. Thanks

JOHN,you say everything is stock so with a stock gm cam approx 4-6 deg initial but if the motor has any kind of aftermarket non stock gm cam then approx 16-18 deg initial.

If you dont know what cam is in motor try 16-18 itial,if it runs poorly its likely a stock cam but if it responds well to the additonal advance to 16-18 deg then your likely running an aftermarket perf cam.

Look for approx 36 total (38 max)all in by approx 2800-3k rpms along with a avc adv.
