Can the 1-2 slider be used in place of the 3-4?
I ordered a new torque lock slider and it appears to have the champher
for the 1-2 sift. What I am asking is, do I have to have the 3-4 or can I use the 1-2 in place of it. I dont see any reason why not just yet.

The COMPLETE synchronizer is 100% interchangeable for 1-2 and 3-4 in a Muncie. You can take the 1-2 and 3-4 synchronizers completely apart and interchange ANY of the parts----------------for a Muncie-----------------NOT for a T-10.
Some of the early Muncies had a wider flange on the 3-4 slider than on the 1-2 slider, but they are still interchangeable. All the later and replacement sliders have the narrower flange on the slider.
