I always see posts asking for UDHarold , who is he ? Why does everyone seek his advice on cam selection ? I went to his member profile and tried to click on his web site , but it would'nt come up. I see he is a camshaft designer , but for who , what , when , where ? Should I seek his advise in the future for my 496 build ? Just curious .
Thanks , Mitch.

I'm impressed a man of his knowledge takes the time to answer questions. Does he have a fan club ? graemlins/hurray.gif graemlins/hurray.gif graemlins/hurray.gif graemlins/hurray.gif

I have a fan and a club, the fan is 110 AC, the club a Louisville Slugger I keep next to the back door, "just in case".
There is also an 'Anti-Fan Club', but I won't talk about them......

Thanks 70BB I cant wait to get going on my 496. Did that crank slide right in or did you have to grind the block to fit? How is it for street driving?
Thanks , Mitch.

BTW, I am head of cam design at Lunati, and hope to be there the next 7 or more years. If I make it 7 years, I'll be 70 then, and want to slow down to 1 day/week.
Next week we will be arranging the delivery of my new Landis CNC cam grinder, with a wire going from my computer to the CNC cam grinder. This will get rid of all the delays we have been experiencing with our current, E-Mail to Chicago and wait, master making process. It will allow me to dial-in Base Circle Diameter and Roller-Bearing Diameter, for more accurate cams.
Each finshed cam will be checked by Adcole, which will be next to it.
I hope to add a 2nd Landis in 2005.....
For all you 049/etc guys out there, I am working on a few new cams for you:
274/282@.015 231/239@.050, .540/.564--108 LSA
272/278@.015 239/247@.050, .578/.578--108 LSA
282/288@.015 249/257@.050, .608/.608--108 LSA.
The 1st cam, 274/282, has new ramps reminescent of the 272F/282F, and should go ALL year or longer between valve lash setting. Lash on the 1st, .020/.024, the 2nd 2--.018/.018, but more aggressive.
Sharing ramps with the 274/282, are:
284/288@.015 241/245@.050, .570/.582--112 LSA
298/302@.015 255/259@.050, .612/.624--110 LSA
306/312@.015 264/271@.050, .625/.625--110 LSA.
The 284/288 is my LS6 replacement cam, the 306/312 replaces the L88.
From .050 and up, the 298 is about IDENTICAL to my favorite 288F.......
I hope to be manufacturing these profiles by July.
I have many others, but I'm about through for tonight.....

Hamrdown,
The block did require a little grinding for the crank throws(be sure and check yours). The cam does let the world know it's in there @ idle(sorta like the budweiser clydesdales loping up to ya).Mines just a weekend cruiser,so I like it that way.
