I have a question on my hood scoop.
The scoop I bought looks to me like it's to long.
Cutting it isn't a problem.
But I would like someone else to see if it looks to long aswell.
This is my car with the scoop sitting on the hood.

This is what I think looks better. (not my car, just an example)

If you look at the 2nd picture, you'll notice the open end of the scoop is actually even with the back of the hood, the way youve got the scoop sitting on the hood, your lining it up witht the front of the hood vents jim

Um so I have to fill in two vents on each side of the scoop?

I agree, move it back so the back of the scoop flange is even with the back of the hood.

I would bring it to the rear of the hood and fill/weld in the exposed vents. Trim up your exposed flanges on the top of the hood but leave maybe 1/4" to give it some strength. Set it in place and run your wipers to make sure you have clearance for them first. Looks like there is plenty of room for them though.

Not sure what you mean: Trim up your exposed flanges? What are you call exposed flanges.
I'm really greatful for the help. This hood scoop is placed in the same spot as the old one I took off. It was on the car when I got it. But it was not in very good shape, plus the hood has been cut open.
Found all this after removing the old scoop. The old owner cut it up.

And this is what it looked like before. With the old scoop.

I think your ideas guys are going to be perfect. I will move it back towards the rear this weekend.

that old scoop is a Z28 scoop and look at how the opening goes over the vents, dont forget to cut a V in the middle of the new scoop and line it up with the rib in the hood. jim
