Must you pull the tail housing off the transmission (and the shifter) to change the internal gear ? My speedometer is 10 mph slow.
Thanks.

The driven gear, no, it can be changed easily. The drive gear, yes, tail housing must be removed. Heres 2 links on correcting speedometers.

Any speedometer shop will have and adapter to compensate for your speedo, and you wont have to remove your tail housing Beats removing the trans.

As far as the chart using milepost markers found on most state highways and interstate roads, this is assuming that the mile markers are at exactly 1 mile apart. In mountain terrain this is not always the case. Not sure where you are at, but, what I'm getting at is don't assume that those markers are right on the mile, they may be off.

What gear are you using, rear. Wgat tire are you using? What color is the current driven gear on the end of the cable plugged into the trans??

You might get lucky and get close with a driven gear change.

Yep you can buy one of those adapters, most are over priced but of money is not a show stopper than by all means go for it.

Mine is 15 mph too fast after changing rear gears so I just plug in the GPS and use it for speedometer until I get corrected.
