Ok I finally got the engine to idle between 900-1000. I changed the timing curve with a mr gasket kit 929g which is a 900-3000 curve. I set the basic timing at about 18(my timing pointer on my engine above my balancer is off a bit I suspect because 20 is what it said at 0 with my timing light). I set my total to 36 and when I hooked up the vacuum advance and reved it up a bit it read 45 total. It seems to like it there and runs good. Now I tried the vacuum ported and on the manifold end of the carb. For some reason it seems to perform better on the manifold end it seemed to accelerate better so I left it there? Now that I changed my curve my vacuum at idle went from 10 to about 6-7. The only thing I'm concerned about is when I get on it I see black smoke for a second or two but I just rejetted the card to 71 in front and 74 in the year trying to not waste gas(black smoke). I wonder if stock 750dbl injectors are adequate? Power valve is a 3.5. I noticed at a first gear start every once in awhile the carb will spit and I'm not sure how to fix that. All in all I'm pretty happy. Bring on the comments if you have them. Everyone's advice helped me get my ride running better.
