I'm just a lurker around here for the most part, but I'll get anyone interested up to speed a little bit. A few years ago I made some bad choices and got into a really bad motor deal. Someone told me to get in touch with Mike, so I did and the rest was history. I told him it needed to make power, yet be able to lug at a lower RPM because of my 2004R transmission with a lockup converter. A set of Brodix 200RRs, a mid-grade Isky hydro roller and Isky valvetrain, and a few other odds and ends were on the way. Originally these parts went onto/into a 383 and with a Pro-Systems carb, this pump gas street car went 11.80s @ 112ish. That motor ran excellent for a couple years, but the need for speed always seems to get the better of me... and having a "good", and I use that term loosely in hindsight" 509 400 block laying around didnt help either.

So, last winter I screwed together the 400 using as many of the parts as possible from the 383. Reused the heads, cam, valvetrain, carb, intake, rotator minus pistons yadda yadda. Had to touch bases with Mike for a couple odds and ends again. All said and done, (and lots of heli-coils in the head bolt holes), this 400 is nothing short of phenominal. I made 3 passes at the track last weekend, and ran a best of 11.59 @ 113.85 with a 1.588 60 footer. I'm certain with a little more seat time I'll shave a little off.

Heres a so-so video of one of the passes. http://video.cardomain.com/Clip.aspx?key=8637E9978513716E

I've always taken pride in how streetable this car is, and how strong it runs considering. My girlfriend jumps in it, pumps the gas twice, hits the key and drives it anywhere she likes without a worry in the world. Mike really nailed the combo on this one, and I'm certain any future projects I do will be with his assistance once again. You da man Wolfy! :)

Very Nice! Mike is the man! 11.59 with a 406 that is streetable is fantastic. Your suspension appears to be working well too!

Nice Job.

That runs awesome, ;) got more specs on the engine. What's the wt. of the little Montes?:D I'm guessing they're about 500 less than mine.
