Hi everyone.
just found my way to the Team Chevelle forum wich is great for me to find technical stuff. I'm living in Belgium, the other side of the big pond, where ist is hard to find the right info.
I'm planning to change the brakes on my 70 Chevelle and would like to find out your experience with a CPP or Wilwood Big Brake Kit for front and rear.
It seems that Wilwood is only a little more expensive then CPP, but you get 4 pot calipers all around.
All the best!

First of all, welcome.
Here's my $.02 on brakes. No doubt that Wilwood makes quality stuff but it is expensive. The big brake kit calipers that CPP offers look an awful lot like the two piece two piston calipers on my 2003 Chevy Silverado 1/2 ton. If they are, that means replacement parts & pads are readily available at your local parts store. I have no stopping issues with my truck and it weighs quite a bit more than any Chevelle. I'm not sure how compatible Wilwood's components are if they need replacing.
If you are trying to reduce the weight of the vehicle, want to do some racing, and don't mind the price tag, Wilwood and SSBC make awesome stuff that looks cool. For daily drivers that may see some strip time, I think that GM factory style disc brake set ups are more then adequate and are readily available form several sources. For example, I got my rear disc brake kit from Matt's Classic Bowties.

If you check out CPP's "tech info" on the kit, it does list :
Replacement Parts:
Brake Calipers:
1999-2004 GM 1/2 ton pickup & SUV w/ 6 lug wheels
Brake Pads:
1999-2004 GM 1/2 ton pickup & SUV w/ 6 lug wheels
Left Rotor:
CPP 13” 31815 Left Rotor
Right Rotor:
CPP 13” 31815 Right Rotor

No experience with either kit, but I believe the CPP kit uses 1" thick rotors versus the 0.81" thick wilwoods. In Belgium, I'm guessing it'll actually be easier for you to get Wilwood parts than the stock GM parts for the pickups (not a lot of pickups sold overseas last time I checked). Also, make sure your wheels will fit whatever brake setup you plan on running!
