I'am in the process of switching my 1969 Malibu from a bench seat to bucket seats. I know I have to install the mounting brackets for the inner tracks.I just set the seats in place to see how the outer tracks line up with the outer mounting holes, they seem to line up ok but I noticed that the side of the seat plastic is up against the seat belt retractor,if the seat is moved forward or back it will rub against it. Is there a difference between bench seat and bucket seat seat belt retractors? What can be done to eliminate the problem, I was hoping that I could still use the original seat belt set up, if not what would be the way to do it. Also where would be the best place to purchase the inner mounting brackets?:confused::confused::confused:

You will need the bench to bucket brackets for both tracks each seat. Also, see above your post for the sticky on the bench to bucket conversion diagram, it looks like you get to reuse 1 hole. Not sure about the belts. I hope you can still use them because I will be doing the same with my 69 soon. Let us know how it goes.

It may be a little while as I'am going to do it over the winter, I need something to do to past the time away, no need to hurry can't and won't take it out in crappy Minnesota weather. Thats a nice Chevelle you have. Jerry
