I'm really tempted to TnT since I really didn't get to see what it would do once Ben and Darryl got done with it and I even have the day off. Will you be there Friday?

I'll be at the track Saturday & Sunday. They have a TNT on Saturday and Car Club Challenge. Then King of the Track on Sunday.

The only reason I don't go SAT is everytime I thought I'd get to run, I didn't. Last weekend the rain kicked our butts though. I really need to see what all the changes did plus I need to get my launch back to where it was. I'm convinced I'm in the low 13s now, just need to get her out of the hole faster and that's tire pressure and lower launch RPMs (I think)

I want to get all that down before the Halloween Bash.

Good luck on SAT and SUN:thumbsup:

Hmmmmmm, 5 and 6 Oct, eh?
I'll miss the Halloween Bash due to the Hawaii trip....might have to go for FRI and or possibly SAT. Guess I better get cranking on those home remodel projects.

I was under my Elky this evening....that darn starter was doing the nasty noise again.
I dropped her all the way down. Flexplate looked OK, Bendix Drive looked OK so I threw her back up with a (new) total of .080" shim between the starter and underside of the block under the outside starter bolt. Seems excessive to cock the starter head in that far....but it is the quietest ever now.

Naturally I was expecting to find really banged teeth....so I looked at TH350 removal to possibly get a new flexplate in there. Not needed now. Was concerned about that FlowMaster ext kit. I see I have room to drop the trans and get that converter in there.... Art has a new frt float bowl so I should also be running the 3310 too. Stock jetting.....72/metering plate. Noted my flexplate is single pattern, gotta figure if the Hughes converter is small or big pattern.

If I get there with the goodies installed and it does not rain, high 14s for sure.

I think I'm going on Friday for the day and TnT. Might go SAT if it rains on Friday. I don't want to race unitl I get some more seat time, have to get it dialed in. Either way it will only be for one day that weekend.

George, you better get going on the Elky projects too;)

George, you better get going on the Elky projects too;)

Art is off tomorrow, hope to catch him at home and get the replacement front bowl for the Holley. My frt float bowl lost the last of its threads for the needle and seat. Will also revive the 600 Holley so I can use it to get home (with confidence) then work on the Q-Jet next week. Will start with a needle and seat on the 600 Holley then sec float if needed.

With the converter and 3310, I should hopefully crack into the 14s. With some DRs, maybe 14.7? Chris (mr 4 speed) recommended the UMI lower arm relocation kit.....might bust into the new interior fund.

As you are aware, difficult to get a good 60' time when the car spins 'em. Even spinning the tires more this last time got me 1/10 better and 1/25 mph faster. W/O improvements in traction, more power with dedicated go-fast(er) carb and converter probably won't achieve much but an early death to the tread on my TA Radials!

OK, so shooting for Bremerton FRI with alt of SAT as you are doing. Will know for sure by WED

George, you can run my DRs when I let mine cool if you don't have any. I've got to do some analysis on my time slips between series of passes. This time out, I've got to work on driving and not so much tuning. I've got to figure out how to get it out of the hole.

I've been thinking of running SAT but only if it looks like I can TnT a bunch. If all we get to do is run once or twice and then dial, I'm going to pass. I've got to get some T/O passes in before the 28th if I'm to have any hope at all.

Bring your jack and some stands.

I will be in Verginia again for boat racing, world championships this weekend. I must defend my title, going for a three peat. I also need the points to win the National title again this year, I'm 100 points out of lead but can make that up if I have a good weekend. I'v been fighting engine problems all season and just figured it out, the owner changed to different fuel during the last off season (sonoco 110) and it dose not support the 15:1 cr I'm running, now with 118 VP it's running awesome. Should have figured it out sooner but I did'nt know he had made the change. Anyway, wish me luck. Have a good time at the track this weekend.

Anyone going on FRI? I still plan to go since that's the only day not calling for rain.

I don't think I'm going to run in the Halloween bash, between the "real" cars that are being posted in the other thread, I feel intimidated!

Well, my last run at Bremerton wasn't all that bad. I couldn't go any faster than a 13.6 and 102 MPH. I do think I've figured out my launch and I 60'ed at 1.92, the quickest 60' I've ever ran. So at least I finished well, there hasn't been one time this year I've gone to Bremerton that I haven't improved something. A good way to close the season:thumbsup:

She's settled out at low 13.7s and 102 MPH. I think that's all I can get. If I want to go faster, I need gears.

I even broke. My switch for my Line Lock disentegrated. Still able to use it though. I'm grinding into second gear too, hope its just clutch and not Tremec.

Like I said, a great way to close out my time here in the PNW:beers:

I think I'm going to start drinking whiskey now:yes:

Mark,

Nicely done!
Glad to see the 60' times come down.

Hopefully you are a quick clutch adjustment away from curing that lil' grind issue, and the line lock sounds like a easy fix. That poor lil' line lock switch didn't have a chance when your adrenaline decided you "gotago" a little bit faster.:D

Are you going to have lower gears installed over the winter?
We'll all be intently watching your progress from afar.

Are you going to be around for the Dinks event?

Greg, you're right about the LL switch, LOL. I was suprised at the intensity of my concentration as soon as I start my burnout. When my switch broke, it blew my concentration. Interestingly enough, that was my quickest 60'time.

Yeah, I have to swap gears to bring the car back in balance, the intake swap netted me huge gains on the top end, from the 1/8th to the 1/4 its real consistent. I think the gear change is the best way to bring the car back in balance from the start to 1/8th. The motor is good.

I may not make the Halloween bash as my parents are leaving that day and I have to drop them off in Seattle at the train station. I guess it depends on when the event starts. I would like to see Darryl whoop some butt though.
