Over the past winter I've slowly been reading and learning as much as I can about BBCs......... of which I had no idea how little I knew. Of the parts I've collected I'm fairly confident when completed I'll have quite the radical 402.
BUT!!!! all things taken into consideration not sure how soon I'll be done with this one.
Given the condition of the 402 I have........thinking of just putting it back together with mild mods.......then pull and rebuild next winter the way I want (and hopefully with a better understanding by them).
What I have is a very clean, solid 402. Came with these pistons http://www.chevelles.com/showroom/dirtrocker/piston.JPG
a set of 820 heads with 2.19/ 1.88 valves , performer RPM intake, and a set of summit branded headers.
Will be backed by a 4sp and 3.73 gears. If I were to find a set of close heads, would I increase compression to a reasonable point, or would I be better just staying with the 820s ?
