I have a 600cfm 4 barel edelbrock carb on top of my 350. When i put it to the floor from a stop it feels like the motor is being flooded, almost stalling for a second then it picks back up slowly. Can you change the secondarys to come in at a certain rpm? I think that would help. Thanks

You have to grind weight off the secondary air valve weights to change its opening rate, pita. Whats your set up and is the carb stock out of the box?

Brian,
Actually the engine is probably getting too much air, either the secondaries are opening too soon, or the accelerator pump is not working correctly. Also, not enough ignition timing can give the same symthom.
Hope this helps,

the motors timing is pretty good i just had it tuned and im running the vaccum advance thing, which helped a little. How can i make the secondaries open up later??

You are kinda stuck with the stock rate. I feel its a tuning problem, the valve opens from vacuum like a q-jet and with it being weighted it probably not opening too much. Give your full set up or as much as you know and we can more than likely find the problem.

try adjusting the accelerator pump linkage first..there are 3 holes...I think(its hard getting old) the bottom hole is the one you need to hook up
