Several years ago, Ted Turner obtained some of the old classic black & white movies and had them colorized. Several of these colorized versions were shown on TCM (Turner Classic Movies). Personally, I LOVED the colorized versions (but some purist critics were upset). I NEVER see these colorized versions on TV anymore, don't know why!
I recorded the colorized versions of RIO GRAND (John Wayne), the original TARZAN (Johnny Weissmuller) and FORBIDDEN PLANET (originally made in color, with Robie the robot) on a VHS tape.
Last night, during a period of boredom, I pulled the tape out to watch RIO GRAND (one of my most favorite JW movies). About halfway through the movie-----------------DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!! SOMEONE IN MY HOUSEHOLD HAD RECORDED AN EPISODE OF DEPERATE HOUSEWIVES ON THE TAPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When my wife got home, she of course had no clue how that had happened (Ya, right!).
I also have the original KING KONG in color (I better check it tonight!!!!!!).

So, here is my question. Does anyone have, does anyone know where I can get a copy, or if COLORIZED versions of Rio Grand and Tarzan are even available, or where I might find them??????????????
I would really love to have them-----------VHS, DVD, I don't care what format. PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Of course, I'd also like to have Forbidden Planet, but I figure that would be easier to find.

Tom I built a pool for this guy a few years ago Carie Roan he owns alot of the original movies and leases them to Ted Turner. I went to his house warming party and he was playing alot of different movies on the original film "UnCut" with the bloopers with John Wayne very cool to see them. I could always ask him I see him at the grocery store every friday:yes:

Forbidden Planet was on the SciFi channel last weekend. I always enjoy that flick for some reason.

I was searching the web for the original "Godzilla" (US version with Raymond Burr) recently and got directed to Amazon.com almost every time. Turns out there are quite a few places selling new and used DVD's that you can buy from, via that site. They are linked at Amazon.com if you click-on "used".

FYI: The "original" uncut Japanese version with English subtitles of Godzilla titled "Gojira" comes in a 2-disc set with the edited/dubbed US version. The set is called "Gojira". It comes with a little book that tells the history of the movie etc. I got mine online from Target for $15.

I watched "Forbidden Planet" too...What's that girls name?...Altair?...good grief!!...

Our Wal-Mart had the Rio Grand in the 5 dollar bin on DVD. If not there they will have it on the shelf as they do most John Wayne movies usually for 7.50-9.00.:)

Thanks everyone. Is it the COLORIZED version?
How about the original Johnny Weissmuller Tarzan in COLOR?
I'm still hot! I CANNOT believe my wife recorded over those classics. Oh well, maybe Deperate Housewives will be a classic someday. NOT!!!
