: Nice web site of great story on the KO Motion Corvette
joe58 Sep 26th, 07, 8:39 AM This is a great car story
The "KO Motion" Corvette was owned by "Astoria Chas" aka Charlie Snyder and sponsored by Motion Performance and Cars Magazine.
Charlie was killed in Viet Nam and the car was raced in his name then put in a garage where it sat untouched for over 30yrs
Here is the web site with full story

tatoodkelt Sep 26th, 07, 9:48 AM That's great, I love seeing stories like this. I'm forwarding the link to my dad. He's got a 66 and 92 Vette and probably remembers the car.
69396ss Sep 26th, 07, 8:00 PM WOW is all I can say.
70 Gold Nugget Sep 26th, 07, 10:15 PM I have known about that car for a long long time...and the story behind it is one of the best muscle car stories there is IMO...talk about American Graffiti...I think that is about the closest to it one could get...the story frequently appears in newer corvette history books...
Whoever made that website sure knew what the heck they were doing...
Don_Lightfoot Sep 27th, 07, 11:09 AM Ah, 1967 - what a year:
- Bought my first car.
- Got my first full time job.
- Met my future wife.
- Greatest year of music ever.
- Musclecars were all the rage (my favourite - 67 GTX).
What a great story on an incredible car and engine. Thanks for posting Joe
Dan Orgill Sep 28th, 07, 9:25 AM That was quite cool:yes:
tunes Sep 28th, 07, 4:23 PM I still don't see any links. All my screen shows is the Corvette with the name at the top of the page.
joe58 Sep 28th, 07, 5:06 PM under the "M" of the large "Ko Motion" at the top of the page click on the word "history" or "video"
tunes Sep 28th, 07, 9:30 PM OK. Now that I looked at it on my computer at home I can see the links. My monitor at work is pretty dark and it didn't show any of the links. That is a pretty neat story. :hurray:
70300deluxe Oct 9th, 07, 1:58 AM Thats an amaazing story eh! nice post
Blue71 Oct 12th, 07, 9:12 PM IF you have Firefox or a browser that stops popups - ALL the links on that site open as popups. So your browser thinks its an ad. Not the bes website design for this reason - usually you won't be able to tell it's happening and all you see is the home page.
65z13 Oct 14th, 07, 6:59 PM thanks for posting. an excellent tribute to a real piece of history
BERGERZ28 Oct 26th, 07, 6:13 PM My friend Glen owns that car and have seen it many times with our NCRS club and at his shop the car is so original and perfectly perserved. He also owns the Yenko 1967 L88Corvette that Don had raced, previously owned and restored by Richard Prince.
65z13 Oct 27th, 07, 11:38 AM Does the NCRS club ever have shows on Long Island that are open to the public? I would love to see the Ko-Motion. I have emailed Glen in the past and have not received a reply. I pass by the town where is shop is every once in a while and would drop in to see it if it were there. Thanks, Chris

Siegy Scholz Feb 3rd, 09, 9:35 PM I grew up with Charlie Snider in Astoria, we weren't close friends but new each other. His Dad then his Mom ran a soda fountain on Ditmars blvd, Sharon his sister worked there, it was a nice little place. It was good to search on the web and find Charlies vette is still around.
blubu Feb 3rd, 09, 10:44 PM My GOD that is one my all time favorite cars had no Idea of its history?
But what a great find I hope he keeps it and it doesnt end end up at Barret Jackson
My second favorite car was the famous BO Laws CORVETTE 1968 Was A BAD TIME TO BE IN THE NAM TET OFFENSIVE What a shame 185 miles
A lot of the guys then changed out their 427s for a L-88 short block.
In a bunch of chevelles and Camaros around Sand Springs area
Charley did not live long enough to see his dreams come true?
At least someone had heart and love enough to do it for him.
I am sure he would be proud
oldtimebaseballfan Feb 4th, 09, 11:03 AM Thanks for sharing that link. Glen was a very determined person. After 33 years he finally got the car.
joe58 Feb 4th, 09, 2:33 PM Another interesting item on this subject,
Collier Schorr, who is writer Marty Schorr's daughter, did a photo exhibition focused on Charlie "Astoria Chas" Snyder
