Has any one used the Real Tetraethyl Lead from the gentleman that advertisers in the classifieds of the Chevelle World Magazine. I purchased 2 cases a month ago and followed his directions adding 1 bottle for 1 tank full of gas in my 1955 Chevy with a 11:1 small block motor. After about 10 minutes of running engine the car started to miss, ping and overheat. The car continued to stall and almost impossible to restart. Drained gas tank and filled with new gas problem went away. Can anybody advise if they have had success..

I have NO idea what he is selling, so ask him for an MSDS sheet to find out what it is!!

But, this stuff flat works!!

http://www.kemcooil.com Kemco 130 Lead Supreme Octane Booster

It's also real TEL! It raises octane by numbers, not points!! Like from 92.0 to 96.0, NOT 92.0 to 92.6!!

And back in the day, TEL was added up to, I think 3+, maybe up to almost 4 grams/gallon!!

Check FAQ Gasoline.....

Maybe it's too concentrated and the lead is depositing on the sparkplug electrodes and shorting them out b/c this was why tune-up's were done every 10,000 miles or so back then as well as the points rubbing tit wearing down!!!

Paul is right,that Kemco sumpreme 130 works great and is the real deal,used it 1st hand so i know it's true.

I recnetly bought 2 case of the stuff because i think some liberal from some gov agency like the EPA could catch wind of this and shut it down because they are selling real lead and the gov willlileky want to eliminate what ever loophole is allowing the lead to be sold.

I bet its the old FOR OFF ROAD/RACING USE ONLY statement that's allowing them to swell the lead booster.

I dont think we should be advertising the fact this lead is for sale on the net because the more people that know the quicker the word will get out and the quicker the Kemco supreme 130 booster with real lead like we had 30yrs ago will be gone which will be bad for us.

I am not trying to hold anything back from fellow t/cr's but the fact is the real lead can be unsafe to deal with if not properly handled and its was banned yrs ago from std pass car fuel due to polluting the environment from the exhaust too. So for that reason i think this Kemco stuff is on borrowed time IMHO but we can all stock up on a few cases while its still avail . I dont think in the sceme of things that the little we drive our classic cars or cruise only street machines with Kemco in them that we will really do much more harm at this point,we would be like .0001% of the polluton problem as compaired to other things going on in the world.

Just my 2 cents.

You are probably right Scott!

And I know all about the EPA!! I'm commenting on the new proposed area MACT that is going to control body shops at work now! And I've already been in on controlling solvent metal "cold cleaners"...

I've used Kemco Supreme 130
http://www.kemcooil.com/products.php?cId=4

and Maxlead 2000
http://www.maxlead2000.com/

for many years in my Chevy with absolutely no problems. Both of them do the same excellent job of raising the octane of today's poor quality gas.

================================================== =================
* WHAT IS OCTANE SUPREME-130
A GENUINE TETRAETHYL LEAD (TEL) gasoline treatment / octane booster Since 1921, TEL has been the original additive
that (1) Boosts octane numbers, (2) Eliminates engine knock, and (3) Protects valves and valve guides. Only with TEL can you
expect the highest performance in these three crucial areas.

* WHY IS OCTANE SUPREME-130 DIFFERENT FROM OTHER ADDITIVES ON THE MARKET?
Octane Supreme-130 contains a high level of genuine tetraethyl lead, 60 grams per gallon. Other manufacturer’s additives
contain lead substitutes, such as Ammonium Phosphates, Amine Phosphates, Manganese Compounds (MMT), Sodium, Sulfur
formulas, and others mystery blends. There are products that blend a trace of lead with other chemical substitutes, so they
advertise a lead product. Octane Supreme-130 is the only product with 100% TEL activant (NO SUBSTITUTES) for maximum
performance.

* IS OCTANE SUPREME-130 SAFE FOR THE ENVIRONMENT?
By adding Lead Supreme-130 to your fuel, your engine will perform better by increasing horsepower and burning the fuel more
efficiently. Practically all the lead content is burned and deposited on the valves and valve seats, leaving the environment
virtually lead free. Due to EPA regulations this material is to be used off road only.

* HIGHLIGHTS OF OCTANE SUPREME-130
• Contains REAL Tetraethyl Lead and other octane enhancing components (No substitute chemicals added)
• Boosts octane from 2–16 full points when added to fuel. Perfect for high compression engines to
eliminate engine knock and detonation.
• Protects and lubricates valves and valve guides.
• A superior gasoline treatment that really works as claimed
