Labor is usually around $200 to $300. Parts would be about $725.

Prices vary. if they find a problem with the housing could cost much more than expected. my friend was told his housing was bent, that added to his previous estimate.

most of the time trans shops and axle shops do that to you if you dont know them and you just go in and say I want this done. Actually same with brakes... they say all kinds of stuff to get the "full pull" from your wallet. I'd be careful

I would expect to pay over $250 just ti set up a new gear. All other mods ow work would be add on.

You can check your own housing to see if it's bent using a good straight edge and a ruller. Unless a shop has the tool to square the ends, then they are whizzing in the wind. Mark Williams sells the tool, big narly bar that set in the housing bearing caps on a 10/12 bolt and the ends stick out the tubes so you can square up the new ends. You got one of those and a good welder and a guy like BIG GEAR HEAD who is the Wizard of OZ with a welder, then you are good to go:yes::yes::yes:
