Hello all,

I have a F41 susspension in my 71 SS and was wondering want's different between the F41 and a stock chevelle. I beleive the difference is the front and rear sway bar and the boxed rear controll arms, correct?

Are the front controll arms, front or rear springs, or front suspension different? thanks in advance.

yes the front lower arms have oval bushings instead of round for a firmer ride.
also the springs are all HD as well as the shocks.

I think those came on any Chevelle with an optional V8....not the 307

The style of the front control arm bushings were determined more by year then suspension option. The round style is more desirable. The oval bushings were designed for a softer ride for a "family" car. See this link.

You will have to check.

SS cars generally came with round, however I have found ovals on SS cars.

It is easy to check, you do not even have to jack the car up. Lay on the ground with your arm extending under the car in back of the front wheel, either side of the car.

Put you fingers up inside of the rear part of the control arm and follow it to where it goes into the frame. Your fingers will now be resting on the rear bushing inside the control arm. It will either have a flat bottom or round. The flat bottomed bushing is an oval and the round is round. I hope this helps.
