Quick question. I ordered a carpet kit and it came with sound deadener (looks like tar shingles). I also have material like DynoMax to install for added noise / heat protection.
In what order should I install these? Obviously the carpet is last:D
I'm thinking sound deadener (looks like tar shingles) first then the dynoMax and carpet. Or, maybe it just doesn't matter?
Your opinions are very much appreciated?
Thanks

The dynomax sound deadener that I got said to stick it straight to the steel ( floor, roof, door, ect.). Something about absorbing the vibration of the steel. I got rid of the shingle stuff.

I would agree. Layers help - BUT you don't probably need THAT much help unless the rest of the car is dead quiet. I found the layers of rubberized foil work great when they stick to the floor pan directly. MAYBE the shingles would somehow level-out the contours from the rubberized foil sticking to the floor pans...
Otherwise
1 - Dynomax
2 - Carpet

That "Tar Paper" keeps out the moisture and away from the dynomax and carpet so you don't get that muskie smell after a few years.
Thanks to all!:beers: I went ahead and installed the "tar-paper" stuff that came with the carpet kit. Its looking great!
Thanks
