I'm hoping to better my last 13.20 @ 103.4 with a 2.06 60 ft.
I'm ditching the drag radials for Hoosier QT DOT Pro's graemlins/thumbsup.gif Hoping for at least a 1.90 60 ft. and a few more 12 second timeslips

Chris,

I wish I could be going but I have checklist stuff to do first.
Is the only difference between a quicktime pro and an quicktime pro DOT that one is street legal? I can't navigate hoosiers website and summit seems to think they are both legal and both have the same picture.
IMHO if the weather is above 60 (I can never get a decent go with weather) and you have atleast a 28" tire you are going to 60' well below 1.9. Even with your 2.73s... You might even been able to almost floor it off the start with a set of 28 (do 29"s fit under 70 chevelles?) *10.5 or 11.5. I have driven a friends car with BFG drag radials and while I guess they do work, I am not a fan at all. The only difference is you can drive with them and IMHO a ET street/quicktime DOT is not appropriate to drive on on the street and is only for switching at the track, although you can do it if you remember to reinflate them enough so they don't get so hot and explode on the way home (I drove to get gas once from my house to the station with 17psi still in the tires and when I got out I had never seen a hotter tire in my life. I was lucky I think.)
you are gonna love those tires. I wish you luck! and hopefully I will be down there before I graduate, but maybe not. Matt..

I think I would put some money on some 1.7x 60's for you if the track is warm enough and the wether is ok. I know you already know but since I can type as fast as I can think, I may as well keep going, I found my heavy car liked higher PSI than lower. the time I went to LVD the only time I broke the tires loose with (extrremely) gradual throttle application was when I dropped my PSI quite a bit.

2.73's and 12's, 3800+ lbs. How do you shif? staple shifter by hand or leave in drive?

matt
Sorry I am talking so much this morning. Nota a ton to do.

matt.

Matt,my Hoosiers look like ET Streets..they are 26" tall and 9.5" wide..I need the short tire to help out the 2.73's :D I won't be driving up on them..I'll bolt them on when I get there.I shift manually with the factory staple shifter..my shift points are 5000 rpms on both 1-2 and 2-3 shift, and I cross the stripe at 4100..
My best ever 60 ft. was a 1.83 with drag radials, and they where fairly new..lately with them,I can't get out of the 2.0's
Good thing is,I won't need a 1.83 to run a 12.99..a 1.90 should get me there now going by my last best run of 13.20 with a 2.06 60 ft.

I wish I knew you were looking for a set of 26" tall DOTs, I have 26*10.5 ET Streets I would have sold you for a song and dance, but now they are going to my buddy's mustang.
they worked pretty good, but 3.90's and 26" was a bit too much, esp with my old tiny cam that made low end gruntola.

Good luck.. I haven't checked the weather but hopefully it will hold.
