When you Die whats going to happen to your chevelle? Considering I'll be dead, right now I couldn't care less. Hopefully I will go before my wife or daughters, in which case I hope they sell it for lots of money and can take a nice vacation and remember the good times we had in the car.

It won't matter. Material posessions won't mean a thing. The only thing that will matter is how much I've given to others. (Just my belief)

But, since my wife & daughters don't share the passion, I may donate my car/cars to a school or charity. Maybe I can bury my car like ChaosEnvy, but without me in it. I can build a water-tight building for it and someone can open it back up 50 years later.

I would hope my love of cars will continue with my daughters, but so far, it ain't lookin so good. :(

One of my former students has been with me in friendship, adores the Chevelle and has done more than his share of work on it.

He gets it free and clear, (despite who I may be with at the time), and I know will take care of it.

One Caveat: I instruct him to put my cremated ashes in the ashtray.

I am lucky to have a son that truly enjoys anything mechanical so it will definitely go to him. I know he will take care of it as I would like it to be. He is a chip off of the old block. Turns 8 on Saturday and already wants to find an "old and broken" car so we can fix it.

Well,I have 4 Chevelles in various states of repair (or Disrepair).The 70 is my "crown jewel" and has the most value of all of them.My 17 year old son knows the value of each one of the and I'm sure when I am gone he will take each one out,drive the crap outta it and then sell them for appraised value.As for the ton of Coke stuff in the rec room and mint condition 1979 Yamaha RD400 I'm sure My 2 kids realize the value of most of this stuff so they should both fair pretty well when I go to Chevelle heaven!!;)

I joked with my daughter, that she gets it all. The old chevelle, camaro, 2 el caminos, 6 honda ATCs and all the guns. Only thing she likes is the camaro. So Id imagine the rest will end up on craigslist, or ebay. jim

Great thread! If I die young, I'll leave the Chevelle to my Daughter and my V-rod to my son. I'm sure I won't have either one if I die old.

My wife gets it, she has everything else of mine now. She said she would keep it! Then she would give it to my son when he turned 21 or so.

I don't have any kids yet, so for now, when I go I am going to give the car to my kiddo Hanna. She's my niece, and the closest thing I'll have to having my own child for a long time.

Well my wife can turn the garage into a monument with my casket in the back of the '67 elky and all the other stuff. She could put a beer in one hand, and a wrench in the other with oil and Band-Aids all over my hands; heck that how she sees me most of the time anyway. Truly it doesn't really matter what happens to the things I own; when I'm dead I won't care, and since my wife is with me 24/7 she won't care either. They are just things; you cannot bring them with you.

since my son Justin, doesn't share my passion, i hope that i can get someone to sell Butter Cup and the Camaro for him and get a good price.
That way he can buy a house, or heck, do whatever!

Sounds like me. I'll do something stupid, or the car will finally get revenge for what I've done to it.

If not, I think my older daughter would take it. She's always been fond of it.

I considered the notion of being layed to rest in the first tomb with a garage door,lol. Other ideas include having both my body and my car ran through the shredder and scattered ,or the crusher and then layed to rest. In a morbid way I tell people I'll most likely die in it. It sorta amuses me the idea of being some sort of ghost story, sightings of a ghostly black chevelle tearing through the countryside. Another idea that intrigues me I got from a country song( I can't remember the song or title), I'd leave a letter in the car telling of me and my love for the car to the next owner, as a way of passing the torch.

My daughter is getting it, even before I die. She said she wants it when she graduates from College. So, she's 9 now and I have plenty of years lef to enjoy it.
