If you are going to race I would buy an ATI 8" converter. I went from 1.90 60fts with a stock converter to 1.60 60fts with the ATI doing a wheelie. I have a 9:1 454, with a little hydraulic flat tappet and 4.11 gears. I cant wait to try some real power with my drivetrain/suspension combo.

By the way with my current 454 it stalls to 4300.

Well said. My POS holeshot 2400 never delivered as advertised. Not even close. Not for sale...headed to the scrap steel bin.
I will say that my current Hughes 10 inch 3500 lockup came with no suprises.Operates as advertised with a reasonable cost of $500.

I have a 72 Monte 454 turbo 400 with 3.31 gear, it's 4100 lbs and I run a tight 10" 2800 stall. it's the best i've ever had I get 1.65 60 ft on motor and 1.51 with 100 shot NOS and it's sweet on the street .
