Hey guys, I was searching around my storage today and found this BBC Mark IV oil pan.

If I remember correctly I bought it years ago, but it wouldn't clear my crossmember in my '69 Chevelle. Well now I am building my 454 for my little 280z car and I don't have any crossmember issues because the car's crossmember would be under #1 and #2 cylinders, pletty of room.

Anyway, is this a 'Corvette' pan I've heard about?

Is this a 5 or 6 quart pan?

I also noticed the built in baffles and trap door. Will I need a special oil pump pickup to use this pan? Looks like pretty trick stuff.

Thanks guys!!

Cable,
I'm sure that is a vette pan (trap door), but I'm not sure the capacity. I'll check my old books...

Cable here is the listing for your pan, but the pic is wrong.

http://www.pqparts.com/gmperformanceparts/gmperformancepartscatalog2003/pages/Pg%200133.asp

It is listed as 5 qts for pan + 1 for filter.
Can use a flat windage tray, and I think it takes a vette pickup tube.
